Blogging

I used to write quite often before. Then tiredness crept in when there were more 'annotated' versions on offer that make communication easier. I got used to the 140 characters bug as well as updates on Facebook so much so that I concised everything into a line or two.

But I have always felt that I wanted to say more. As the saying goes 'brevity is wit' and that applies perfectly to social media but so does a long dawdling message that tries to capture what I have to say. It's almost like a stream of consciousness theory that I have always found fascinating. I guess that's why one of my favorte authors is Virginia Woolf but that's for an another post.

So I have decided to come back to blogging. It's not that I will have anything earth shattering to say or that what I write or put down here through my ramblings will pull down governments or become viral posts that people share on social media with glee.

For all you know it may not even affect anyone. But I will have the pleasure and satisfaction in knowing that I put something that I felt or cared about in a proper way without feeling the need to shorten it for social media conventions.

And for me, who used to have a long cursive hand and get rewarded for beautiful handwriting, it's like a throwback to the past or in some atavistic way trying to connect to my roots of writing.

I think I will be a much better man for trying. Or not. There is no adjudicator here. And I guess that's one of the charms of blogging.
